The Costa Adeje Gran is the flagship of the Gf hotel chain. The quality at this hotel is evident when you first arrive.l

The situation of the hotel is ideal, located in fashionable Costa Adeje with its up market boutique style shops and only 500 metres from the golden sandy beaches of Playa Fanabe. This Blue Flagged beach is certainly a focal point with sunloungers and umbrellas for hire. There are shops and restaurants backing onto the beach  The nearest shopping centre to the hotel is a three minute stroll away.

The newly opened Adeje Golf course is only 3 kms away.

The hotel has 394 twin/double rooms accommodating up to two adults and a child. They are well furnished with tiles flooring, beige pastel walls and lovely warm bed coverings in blue and gold.

Bathrooms are fully equipped with twin washbasins, full length mirror,bath/shower, wc , bidet and hairdryer.

All rooms have full length furnished balcony, individual air conditioning , satellite TV, mini bar and safe for hire.

There are five fully adapted rooms for wheelchair users with wider access and roll in showers. These must be reconfirmed as being available before we can confirm the booking.

 Another fabulous bonus is that guests staying in suites also have the choice to dine in the a la carte restaurant La Laja without paying a supplement.

The small supplementary charge over the standard twin rooms make these very affordable and thus extremely popular. They are always the first to sell out so book early.

La Finca is the main restaurant, it is very bright and airey again with in laid marbled flooring, lemon coloured linen topped by crisp white starched table covers. All meals are international buffet with show cooking stations for pasta, meat and fish to ensure that only the freshest ingredients are used.

Facilities.

The Hotel Costa Adeje Gran two main swimming pools, one which is heated in winter and a separate child’s pool. The  whole solarium area is a massive 4,500 square metres and come with sunloungers and umbrellas. Naturally, being a five star hotel, pool towels come at no extra cost. But don’t think you can reserve your favourite place by putting down towels and going off for breakfast. The hotel has a strict policy that this is simply not allowed and do have ‘towel police’ to remove these if they find a culprit. Actually it is good entertainment being a spectator to this. Adult aquarobics take place daily in the pool and occasionally diving trial lessons take over part of the main pool.

Comprising of gym and spa circuit with two saunas, a Turkish bath and Jacuzzi. To help you relax and enjoy better living there are a number of spa packages available ranging from the Welcome Package with 30 minutes spa , a relaxtion massage and mini facial for just 69 euro to the three day health care treatment with Therapeutic massage, foot reflexology and Shiatsu for a cost of 190 euro.

Personal trainers are also available at the gym.

Children between the ages of 4 to 12 years are not forgotten as there is a supervised mini club with organised daily activities and mini disco in the evenings.

Isabel Family Hotel

The Isabel Family Hotel is probably one of the best family orientated hotels in all of the Canary Islands as it is exactly as the name implies a great place for families to relax and have a great time. The Isabel is the latest addition to the Gf hotel group and has been fully refurbished 3 years ago.

Ideally situated only 600 metres from the sandy Blue Flag Playa Fanabe beach and next door to a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops the Isabel family hotel will appeal equally well to couples looking for a relaxing place in the sun.

The Isabel family hotel is built in the style of a typical Canarian village with streets and avenues leading you directly to your apartments, bungalow or villas .  The Avenidas are all lined with tropical plants and palms interspersed with marbled fountains

Kids Club,

This is fabulous the mini club has its own part of the hotel and they will entertain children between the ages of 4 to 12 years. It is open and fully supervised from 10am to 5 pm  seven days a week. There is no charge and children will have a full day’s activity with no two days the same. Activities are dependant on the ages of the children and as the chuildren’s pool is right next to children’s club it is not surprising that most of the fun and games centre around or in the pool.

Children over 12 have their own unsupervised area with wall climbing and rope swinging.

Eating and drinking

All meals are taken in the large main restaurant, again built in true Canarian style even with it’s own minstral gallery. Lighting for the restaurant is from chandaliers and candles on your individual table and with natural stone walls and beamed ceilings you really could be in an old Canarian style dining room in a medieaval castle.  In the Summer months guests can choose to sit outside in the Plaza (Town Square) and take their meals as this is directly outside the restaurant.

All meals are international buffet style with show cooking stations preparing only the freshest food during all services for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

There are three bars, the poolside bar which will also serve sandwiches and bocadillos. The BarPlaza comes alive during the Summer evenings with guests enjoying the warm al fresco surroundings whilst taking in the evening enternainment on the near by stage.

The first  floor  Bar salon, just off the reception area is a great place to enjoy pre dinner drinks and aperetifs or after dinner liquers. The Bar Salon has live TV  showing sport programmes and guests can relax in sofa and easy chairs. There is a balcony which over looks the Plaza with ample wicker work tables and furniture.

There is also a bar situated directly in the Plaza and a British pub is open in the evenings.

Accommodation

The Isabel family hotel has 384 apartments, bungalows and villas with views of the mountains, sea or with pool view. Each one is delightfully decorated in pastel shades, deep pink fabrics and tiled floors..

One bedroom apartments sleep up to three people and  have  a separate twin bedroom, kitchenette with cooking facilities, including microwave,  lounge with sofa bed for the third person and a balcony with table and chairs. Naturally there is a fully  fitted bathroom.

One bedroom bungalows have the same facilities as the apartments but are larger and can accommodate up to 3adults and a child or 2adults and 2 children easily. The third and fourth person sleep in the lounge area.

One bedroom villas, these are really  very spacious semi detached duplex style apartments having the same facilities as the bungalows they have their own garden area with sunloungers , tables,  chairs and a Jacuzzi . These are always to first to book up so please make your reservation early.

All rooms have individual air-conditioning and satellite TV

Entertainment.

There is day and night entertainment for all ages with mini disco and shows in the Plaza each evening. Most of the evening entertainment is provided by resident staff with some occasional professional shows .

Between breakfast and lunch there are croissants and cold cuts of meat which is a self service selection from the pool bar.

Between lunch and dinner there will be a selection of cakes, tarts and deserts again from the pool  bar.

From dinner to 11pm sandwiches can be taken from the lounge bar.

The All Inclusive programme gives access to  ice cream as well as water and soft drinks. Alcoholic drinks include a selection of nationally produced Vermouths, Beer, cocktails, Liquers, Whiskies, Gin, Vodka, Rum and Brandy. Drinks are served at the table. Internationally branded drinks are available at small supplements.

Hotel Costa Adeje Gran , Hotel Fanabe Costa Sur & Isabel Family hotel are all situated in the area known as Costa Adeje

The resort of Costa Adeje   is on the South of Tenerife with one of the best sunshine records on the island  it is very chique with a huge range of top class hotels, high quality restaurants and boutique shops. It is a new resort but with all work completed there are no view of cranes at work.

In real terms it is an extension of the bustling non stop resort of Playa de las Americas but as the resort has grown it has expanded, naturally, along the seafront. Costa Adeje is the latest addition and has leaned a lot from the mistakes that make Playa de las Americas so brash.

Costa Adeje is far more laid back and will appeal to both couples and families alike, the younger set still make for Playa.

The selection of bars, shops and restaurants vary from Italian pizza houses to fine  5* international dining experiences. The beach is easily reached and the best one is Playa Fanabe with a long and wide  golden sandy stretch of imported sand backed by a wide variety of shops selling beachware, souveniers and fashionable items, restaurants catering for all tastes and a variety of bars. And coffee shops.  Time can be passed away looking for pilot whales and dolphins both regularly seen from the beach.

Only a short drive away is La  Caleta.  Only a few years ago La Caleta was a separate working fishing village but now because of the hotels built along the seafront La caleta forms part of Costa Adeje. There are a choice of excellent fish restaurants here mostly built directly over the ocean, one tip is to go at lunch time, evenings can be very busy. If you’re staying in Costa Adeje go by taxi, it can be a devil to park and the wine will flow over a long extended lunch.

Golfers will love the Costa Adeje golf course, very new and very challenging with holes following the natural lie of the land.
